Located in a valley in Imbabura, Otavalo is home to
the largest craft market in Ecuador.
The Otavaleños have been weavers and artisans since before Incan times.

The moment you arrive to Otavalo, your senses will be overwhelmed. Here you will encounter glorious views, tasty food and our deepest culture. Every Saturday in Otavalo there is a marketplace where artisans gather to show all their work, from hats, food, jewelry, shoes, ponchos, furniture, to clothing, (we think we might be forgetting some categories), and in here is where magic happens, flavors, colors, languages appear, you look through their faces and see how wise they are and how we need to learn so much from them.
They use this word in order to say mate, to call for help to its partner. Filling ourselves with this energy we started to ask for quality products, they took us to the back of factories, and showed us the process of how to forge ponchos and quilts and decided to buy some of them to sell in our main cities, which turned out to be a complete success.
We had the product, the idea, but most importantly we wanted to help that community, they give it all and they have so little. Artisans in these pieces of product carry our heritage, culture, women being empowered and that only made us proud to be born in Ecuador.
